Soccer 2v2: own one fixed player and team up on passes and positioning in solo, two- or four-person local play, or exact four-human online teams.

Soccer 2v2 is an original compact outfield match with one fixed role per person. Blue1 and Blue2 attack right; Coral1 and Coral2 attack left. Each side also has an automated goalkeeper, never counted as a human. A pass transfers possession without transferring anyone’s controls.

Solo: one human with a bot teammate against two bots. Local2: one human per team, a bot teammate each, independent keyboard or touch panels. Local4: all four outfielders are human-controlled using four disjoint key groups on a shared external keyboard; keyboard rollover depends on hardware. Online: exactly four signed-in humans form two teams of two, with no bot seat filling.

Three minutes of active regulation time, clock stoppages for goals and kickoffs, and draws at full time. Intercept passes, tackle carriers, aim away from the goalkeeper and coordinate off-ball runs. Boards retain the ball; this compact arcade ruleset has no fouls, offside or cards. Training is untimed and ends after three Blue goals, with passive opposing outfielders and an active keeper.

Controls sit outside the pitch, framebuffer resolution follows the usable display and actor size stays bounded on large monitors. Both landscape and portrait work. English and Brazilian Portuguese help explains fixed roles, movement, power, immediate keyboard actions and cancelable touch actions. Original synthesized audio supports mute.

Online games run a client-host simulation through the PixelJS relay. Results are casual and unverified: winning teammates tie first and losing teammates tie third, or everyone ties first in a draw. Losing any connection ends the match; reconnection and host migration are unsupported.

How to play

  • Solo/online: WASD or arrows move and aim; press E to pass, Space to shoot
  • Mouse on the pitch in solo/online: left button shoots, right button passes
  • Each person owns one fixed outfielder; passing never switches controllers
  • Local2: Blue1 WASD+E/Space, Coral1 arrows+comma/period; one labeled bot teammate each
  • Local4: Blue2 IJKL+U/O, Coral2 TFGH+R/Y; shared external keyboard required
  • Touch: independent movement and cancelable Pass/Shoot buttons for solo/online/local2
  • Power: independent sliders and aim preview; keyboard actions respond on press
  • Escape closes Help or pauses/resumes solo/local; M mutes outside native widgets
  • Q remains an alternate pass key; landscape recommended, portrait supported
