Content Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2026 · Beta

PixelJS is a general-audience portal, and players of all ages use it. This Content Policy sets the rules for everything published on PixelJS: games, listings (titles, descriptions, and other metadata), thumbnails, preview videos, channel names, and channel profiles (bios, avatars, banners, and links). It is part of our Terms of Service and Creator Terms.

PixelJS staff review every new game version and every listing change before it is published.

No adult content

This is the most important rule on PixelJS. We do not accept:

  • pornography or nudity;
  • sexual content of any kind, including sexual acts, sexual themes, and sexualized characters; or
  • sexually suggestive content, such as suggestive poses, outfits, dialogue, or thumbnails.

The rule covers every part of a game and its listing, including hidden or unlockable content and pages that a game or channel links to. Because games with this content are not accepted, PixelJS has no Mature or Adults-only rating.

Zero tolerance for sexual content involving minors

Sexual content of any kind involving minors, or characters who appear to be minors, is never allowed, including drawn, animated, or fictional depictions. We remove it and terminate the account that published it. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as U.S. law requires.

Other prohibited content and behavior

Safety and security

Games must run self-contained and must not put players at risk. Games must not include:

  • malware, cryptocurrency mining, exploits, or phishing;
  • tracking or fingerprinting of players;
  • collection of personal information from players, such as names, email addresses, or locations;
  • attempts to escape the game sandbox or to access other sites; or
  • undisclosed network requests to third parties.

Harmful or illegal content

Do not publish:

  • illegal content;
  • real-money gambling, or games of chance that award prizes;
  • hate speech, including content that attacks people based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation;
  • harassment, bullying, or threats directed at real people;
  • content that glorifies terrorism or violent extremism;
  • graphic or gratuitous gore beyond what the Teen rating allows; or
  • content that promotes self-harm, drugs, or the sale of weapons.

Honesty and the rights of others

Do not publish:

  • content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, or other rights, such as art, music, characters, or code you do not have permission to use;
  • content that impersonates a person, creator, brand, or PixelJS;
  • spam, such as repetitive submissions or unrelated keywords;
  • misleading titles, descriptions, thumbnails, preview videos, or other metadata, such as a thumbnail or preview that does not show the actual game; or
  • links to websites with content that this policy prohibits.

Channel names and profiles

Your channel name is part of your channel's web address (for example, example.pixeljs.com). Channel names, bios, avatars, banners, and links must follow this policy. A channel name must not impersonate others, use someone else's trademark without permission, or contain sexual, hateful, or otherwise prohibited content. PixelJS may reclaim a channel name that impersonates others, infringes a trademark, or is inactive.

Age ratings

Every game carries one of three age ratings. The creator chooses the rating, and PixelJS staff check it during review. If a rating does not fit the game, we may ask for a change or decline to publish the game. When in doubt, choose the higher rating. These ratings are PixelJS's own and are not issued by any outside rating organization.

Everyone

Suitable for all ages. Games may include mild cartoon or fantasy action, such as jumping on enemies or defeating creatures that simply vanish, and light suspense. They should not include blood, frightening scenes, or crude or strong language.

Everyone 10+

Suitable for ages 10 and up. In addition to what fits Everyone, games may include:

  • more frequent or intense cartoon or fantasy combat, without blood or realistic injury;
  • mild language; and
  • mildly scary themes, such as spooky settings, monsters, or moments of peril.

Teen (13+)

Suitable for ages 13 and up. In addition to what fits Everyone 10+, games may include:

  • combat and violence, including some blood, as long as it is not graphic or gratuitous;
  • horror themes and intense scary moments;
  • crude humor and occasional strong language;
  • references to alcohol, tobacco, or drugs that do not promote their use; and
  • simulated gambling with no real money and no prizes.

Not allowed at any rating

  • Nudity, or sexual or sexually suggestive content.
  • Graphic or gratuitous gore.
  • Real-money gambling or games of chance with prizes.
  • Anything else this policy prohibits.

Enforcement

  • Review. We review every new game version and listing change before it is published. Submissions that do not meet this policy are not published.
  • Removal. We may remove published content at any time if it violates this policy, for example after a report. We may also remove content that this policy does not specifically describe if it puts players or the Service at risk.
  • Strikes. A violation may result in a strike on the creator's account. Copyright strikes are handled under our Copyright Policy.
  • Suspension and termination. Repeated violations can lead to suspension of a channel or termination of an account. Severe violations, such as malware or phishing, may lead to immediate termination. Any sexual content involving minors always leads to termination.
  • Appeals. If you believe we made a mistake, you can appeal through our contact page. Include your channel name, the content involved, and why you think the decision was wrong. We will review your appeal and let you know the result.

How to report

Anyone can report content, and no account is needed.

  • A game: use the Report button on the game's page.
  • A channel, profile, or anything else: use our contact page.
  • Copyright infringement: send a notice through our copyright notice form.

Describe the problem as clearly as you can. Adding a contact email is optional, but it helps if we need more information. We review reports and act on them under this policy. Please do not submit false or abusive reports.

If you find content that sexually exploits a child, report it to us right away. You can also report it directly to NCMEC's CyberTipline. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.
